NOTICE OF SYSTEM FLUSHING
Independence MUA Customers
In accordance with NJDEP directives, Agra Environmental & Laboratory Services will be conducting a flushing program of the various hydrants and / or water valve blow-offs located throughout the Independence MUA Water system. This program will take place between July 15 & 30.
During the flushing period, you may notice some discoloration of your water. This is due to the movement of sediment throughout the system as it is flushed out of the pipes. At these times, checking the water color from a faucet in your residence will help determine if the water is clear enough to use for laundry or other purposes.
If the water shows any sediment or discoloration, please refrain from washing clothes or cooking at that time.
After running the faucets for several minutes, the water should return to its normal condition.
Please Note: During the flushing, there may be periods of lower water pressure.
Also note: Since you are being provided this notice, Independence MUA and Agra Environmental & Laboratory Services cannot be held responsible for items that may be stained by discolored water.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at: 908-637-4133 x1009.

Comments Regarding Highlands Needed
As part of the Highland Council’s review of the Regional Master Plan, the Council has set up a “web portal” to receive comments from the public. An opra reveals that most of the comments received through this portal to date appear to come from environmentalists and their lobbyists.
The purpose of the portal is to address issues related to the Regional Master Plan only (not the Act) and recommendations for specific revisions to the RMP.
Please take a few minutes and submit a comment through the portal. Your thoughts may be as short as a few sentences or as long as you wish.
Please also forward to a neighbor who might comment.
Comments might include the impact - fiscal and otherwise - on you, your neighbor and your community of the Highlands regulations, the need for landowner compensation, recommended changes to the RMPs mapping, the need for bona fide scientific foundations underlying the planning process, the need for landowner representation on the Council and TDR Bank, whether water provided to urban areas should be free when the Highland bears a huge cost, etc.
Also, if you (or an acquaintance) have even a tiny modicum of “qualified expertise” for any of the Technical Advisory Committees, please submit your name and resume. The TACs are being stacked with environmentalists and rigged to insure that all recommendations keep landowners burned. See Monitoring Program link below.
